Eric Von Dem Bach Zelewski
At the start of the invasion of Russia he was HSSPF for central Russia. Von Dem Bach commanded all anti partisan units until November 1944. He was also in command during the Warsaw uprising. At Nuremberg he testified for the allied prosecution regarding Himmler’s goals in Russia, the Einsatgruppen and anti-partisan operations. The sculpture shows him wearing the Knights Cross he was awarded in Warsaw 1944.
